To create a new Location record, click the Location Management | View | New Location button.

Asset Placer | Location Management | View | New Location

A Location is the place where the Resource is booked to go to in the Asset Management area of Asset Placer. These would usually be your Customers or other place where you provide goods and services.

To create a New Location click the Location Management tab at the top of the screen and in the View page click the green New Location button.

The following New Location screen will open to allow you to enter the relevant details. Note that options indicated with an asterisk are mandatory.

The displayed screen has six tabs at the top: Main Details, Contact Details, Miscellaneous Details, Attachments, Resource Types and Skill Types. New Locations can be entered by just filling in the mandatory fields on the Main Details tab, however it is recommended that as much information as possible is added in the other tabs sections to improve the usability and reporting functions of Asset Placer.

 

Main Details

Select the Territory and the Region for the Location from the drop down box and allocate a Code. Codes are manually set and would usually follow an agreed format to be defined by your particular businesses ways of working. If you are unsure what Code to enter, then ask your Line Manager for advice.

Optionally select a Location Group from the drop down box and then type in the Name (mandatory), address, contact and customer since date details.

Once you have double checked the information is correct you can click the submit button at the end of the stage to save the Location and close the screen. If you want to add additional information select one of the other tabs.

 

Contact Details

Asset Placer | Location Management | View | New Location | Contact tab

On this screen you can enter the details of two Key Contacts and a contact for the Accounts department where invoices would be sent. Note that the Account Contact may be the same as one of the Key Contacts.

Select the Submit button to save the Location or you can move to the next tab to enter more information.

 

Miscellaneous Details

Asset Placer | Location Management | View | New Location | Miscellaneous tab

This screen allows you to enter details of the company including:
* Invoice Prefix – this will be included on invoices to help identify the Location being invoiced.
* Currency – the currency to be used when charging the Location.
* Status – a note on the relationship with the Location; this may be a note such as being a valued customer or having invoices overdue.
* Notes – any other miscellaneous information on the Location which you want to record.
* Company Number – the Companies House registration number of the Location (assuming that they are a business) or other unique reference relevant to your usage of Asset Placer.
* VAT number – the Locations VAT registration number to be added to invoices (assuming that they are a business) or other relevant reference to your usage of Asset Placer.
* Website & Other URL – the Locations website address and any other relevant internet address.

Select the Submit button to save the Location or you can move to the next tab to enter more information.

 

Attachments

In this section you can save documents that related to the Location, for example Purchase Orders, reports, contracts and other correspondence. The Attachment features are covered in more detail in the Asset Placer | Location Management | View | Location Attachments Article here.

 

Resource Type

In this section you can record the Resource Types which the Location typically uses. The Resource Type features are covered in more detail in the Asset Placer | Location Management | View | Location Resource Types Article here.

 

Skill Types

This is the type of knowledge, qualification, skills or abilities that a Location typically requires from Resource. The Skill Type features are covered in more detail in the Asset Placer | Location Management | View | Location Skill Types Article here.

 

All the sections of the New Location have now been completed and you can now submit the record. Once you have double checked the information is correct you can click the green Submit button to save the Location and return to the Location Management View page. The Location will now be displayed in the View Locations grid.
